Eight Point Two started to provide races back in 2005. Our Whole Hog series was developed especially for the charity market as we felt that there weren’t many alternatives to the traditional road running races. We also felt that those runners who wanted to raise money also wanted something that was memorable and challenging!

We developed short races, in beautiful locations, which were off road and are usually between 6 and 8 miles long. As always there are challenges of differing degrees and styles to do along the way – just check out our blog archive for ideas on what you might be letting yourselves in for!
During 2010 we also invested in Sport ident race timing equipment because we believe that it’s the best equipment to use on our style of events. This means that we now have a safety monitoring and timing system which sets our events apart. You can talk to us about using this equipment for your own events.
The Whole Hog

The Whole Hog events are primarily team events which include a running/walking element and a variety of challenging and exhilarating natural and manmade obstacles along the way. They are hard work but a lot of fun. Teams should expect a participation time of around 1 ½ to 3 hours.
Though it is not primarily a fundraising event, the Whole Hog races can be a great way to fundraise for charities with about 30% of the competitors raising money for a variety of charities, we estimate that there was over £300,000 raised during the 2010 season.
For our race calendar check out the web site.

Races for Others
Eight Point Two don’t just do races for us!
In 2012 we are supplying races for a number of different organisations and charities such as Marie Curie (currently 4 booked around the UK) , Safe at Last’s BIG Adventure Challenge, The Scout Associations new 24 hour race to be held in Kielder, Cotswold Care’s adventure race plus a few more exciting new projects in the pipeline (watch this space)! These events are all branded and targeted towards the target audience and we plan, manage and run the events on the charity or companies behalf (we also do a number of corporate challenge events too).

Whether it’s a 10km road race or a 48 hour Adventure Race we have the expertise and experience to deliver a top quality event!
